Bacillus subtilis cells are straight rod-shaped, non-capsular, peritubular flagella, and motile. Gram-positive bacteria, spores 0.6-0.9 × 1.0-1.5 μm, oval to columnar, located in the center of the cell or slightly deviated, the cell does not expand after spore formation. It has been officially approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of the United States in 1989 and the Ministry of Agriculture of China in 1999.
