Ceramide NP, also known as ceramide 3, is a lipid substance that is an important ceramide subclass in the stratum corneum of the skin.
I. Structure and Source Structure : Ceramide NP is composed of plant sphingosine and hydroxyl free fatty acids, which are linked by amide bonds. Source : Ceramide NP can be synthesized and is also found in human skin.
