Product Description

NAC, N-Acetyl-L-cysteine (N-Acetylcysteine), Chinese name N-acetyl-L-cysteine (Acetylcysteine), is a thiol containing antioxidant, can increase the cell bank of free radical trapping agent, but also a mucolytic agent, The principle of action is that it can break the disulfide bond of mucin peptide bond (-S-S-), so that mucin becomes a small molecular peptide chain, relaxing and removing the viscosity of sputum. NAC is functionally equivalent to glutathione, both of which have antioxidant properties based on the function of sulfhydryl groups, and both can protect the body from oxidative stress damage caused by septic shock. NAC can inhibit the apoptosis of nerve cells, but can also induce the apoptosis of smooth muscle cells. NAC also inhibits HIV replication and acts as a substrate for microsomal glutathione transferase (GST)
